Back-up generator now running
at Cardwell RSL

Cardwell RSL Sub Branch’s new back-up generator is installed and running. Funded through a grant from the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR), it gives the branch a reliable plan if storms knock out the power this wet season.

Local electrician Adrian Cammeleri visited the branch this week to show members how to run it.

Sub Branch President Robert Lang thanked FRRR for its support, saying the grant made the generator compound and electrical connection possible.

Cardwell RSL Continues its support for local schools and our community.

The Cardwell RSL Committee are very proud of our fund-raising efforts largely due to the regular Sunday BBQ lunches.
In addition to the $11,200 another $3,000 has been donated to the Lions Club over 65’s Christmas Party and $575.20 towards Veterans Welfare.
Total so far in 2026 is now $14,775.20.

We have our 40mm Bofors Gun Plaque,  now all we need is a finished gun for display! All should be ready for the official opening at 12:00pm on Sunday the 12th of July here at the Cardwell RSL Sub Branch.

This plaque was very generously supported by our C.O.F 15/26 grant application.
