The Melbourne Cup is coming!

We are excited to announce that the Melbourne Cup will be arriving in Cardwell on the Cassowary Coast on the 20th of August 2024.

It will be at the Cardwell RSL at 9.15am.

In 2024, the Melbourne Cup itself will be visiting 24 National Sweep locations across rural and regional communities. Each of these towns has been allocated starting barriers for the Cup, and representatives from each location are invited to join us for Lexus Melbourne Cup Day in Melbourne. Notably, the town whose barrier corresponds to the winning horse will be awarded a substantial cash prize of $50,000.

This prize is intended to support a charity of the community’s choosing, reinforcing the Cup’s broader impact beyond the racing event itself.
