$3,000 Donated to Cardwell Lions Club

A cheque presentation ceremony was held at the Cardwell RSL Sub Branch on Sunday the 27th of July with the funds ensuring the RSL receive an invite to the over 65’s Lions Christmas Party. Cardwell RSL have donated over $13,000.00 so far this year and have been to other non-profits like the local schools and Coast Guard, etc.

The income for these donations is from our Sunday BBQ/Buffet lunches which with another 66 diners this week, the $10.00 cost for such an array of salads alone is very popular.

None of this would be possible with-out the enthusiasm and hard work of our volunteers. From the BBQ to the Bar and the Kitchen their routine is well practiced and executed, and their efforts serve the whole community.

The Cardwell RSL Sub Branch continues to make an extraordinary impact in our local community through their popular Sunday BBQ/Buffet lunches at 36 Roma Street. This dedicated team of volunteer pensioners has already raised $10,000 in 2025 to support local schools, the Coast Guard, the UFO festival, and other community groups.

Every Sunday, we serve quality buffet meals for just $10, featuring impressive variety and fresh salads that consistently delight our guests. These modest weekly gatherings are the foundation of our community fundraising efforts.
